Information Systems Auditor, RWE Thames Water
Eddie joined RWE Thames Water Group as IS Auditor in May 2005, where he is responsible for reviewing and monitoring financial controls throughout the RWE Group UK
He also provides a capability review of systems and procedures in areas of capital expenditure, computer applications, acquisition and merger processes
Prior to this he worked as an Information Systems Security Advisor and Data Controller with responsibility for developing and implementing corporate IT Security and Data Protection policies within a multinational organisation employing in excess of 8,500 personnel and turnover in excess of £1bn
The role incorporated broad and diverse responsibilities, requiring a detailed understanding of current and developing business needs. While also requiring the ability to provide a balanced set of Information Security policies in light of evolving technologies, emerging IT security risks and changes in legislation
Eddie has developed and implemented corporate Information Security policies to provide secure network, system, application and data management architectures and policies for existing and developing business processes and services. He has also developed and implemented a computer based training course on IT Security and Data Protection to serve 26,000 employees across the group. He developed and now maintains the company intranet web page to raise awareness of IT security and Data protection issues
