Introduction to the ERBI IT Special Interest Group
CambiNet have teamed up with ERBI, EACS and Cambridge Online Systems in order to stage a series of high profile IT Special Interest Group events. These events will reveal and explore a variety of important information management strategies which are available to the core strategic decision makers working within the centre of European biotech excellence in Cambridgeshire.
Our first event entitled “So you think your IP is safe?” was held on 9th January 2007, and delved into the essentials of information security, and specifically focused on IP protection. We were incredibly lucky to have attracted three award winning, world class speakers, Ed Gibson, CSA Microsoft, Andrew Sheldon, CEO, Evidence Talks and Eddie Humphries, IT Auditor Thames water who are experts in this field. They took the attendees on an illuminating journey of discovery, showing them what is actually happening in the real world, and they advised everyone what they should all be doing to suitably protect their IP.
These events are non-technical, and specifically aimed at the high-level strategic decision makers who need to understand the fundamentals required to effectively select and implement the appropriate strategies within their organisations. Technical staff from CambiNet Limited, EACS and Cambridge On Line Systems will always be on hand to take any technical questions attendees may have. These events are open to Senior Executives, IT decision makers, and other interested groups who work within the biotech, pharmaceutical and life science industries.
In 2007 the ERBI IT Special Interest Group will recruit a full steering committee and define a group charter, details of which will be published here in due course.
